Jermaine Durpi and Da Brat are preparing a mixtape called Business As Usual for release later this year, and have shared another collaboration today. "Big Brother x Lil Sister" features production from Jahlil Beats, who rather than supplying the gritty bounce he's been favoring since Bobby Shmurda's "Hot N*gga," he comes through with a soulful knock. It's a perfectly elegant backdrop for the back-and-forth between the frequent collaborators, recapturing their natural chemistry like they never left.
The two reunited on stage at Mariah Carey's Essence festival performance in New Orleans back in July, where they announced the tape would be a Tidal exclusive. It's without a release date for the time being, but this new single suggest it could be on its way sooner than later.
