It doesn't help that Jeff Sessions is a bit wiener, so when he deliberately crosses the line, it hits like a belly flop. The Attorney General of the United States continued his defence of Donald Trump, this time citing a controversial Bible passage to get his point across. It just so happens the passage was one that's been general disregarded since the Civil War, due to the fact it was used by Slaveholders to defend slavery.
According to NBC, the following citation is the exact transcript of his speech:
"Persons who violate the law of our nation are subject to prosecution. I would cite you to the Apostle Paul and his clear and wise command in Romans 13 to obey the laws of the government because God has ordained them for the purpose of order. Orderly and lawful processes are good in themselves and protect the weak and lawful."
Of course his definition of "nation" is dubious, but it's clear he is using to prop up Trump's child migrant policy.Historical context for the quote was provided by historian and avid Twitter user Yoni Appelbaum. He was able to prove without a shadow of a doubt the historicity of the passage and it's intended purpose.
