Jay Z continues to tackles all avenues within the entertainment industry. The rapper has turned mogul has launched his own festival series in recent years, as well as a highly debatable streaming service, while intermittently releasing music and signing artists to his Roc Nation label. Today it's been announced that Hov has inked a two-year exclusive movie and TV deal with The Weinstein Company.
The deal, according to THR, will give The Weinstein Co. first-look options "to produce both scripted and unscripted television projects and film projects" with Jay Z. Apparently there are projects already in the works, and expected to be announced in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
Hov released a statement on the new deal, saying, "I'm excited to tell stories from real-life prophets, whom through their struggles have changed the world for the better, and others whose stories are filled with fantasy and delight. Harvey and David are visionaries both of whom have done this time and time again. I'm already passionate about what we currently have in the pipeline and I'm looking forward to discovering others."
