Jay-Z talks to the crowded Barclays Center about his percent in the Brooklyn Nets, and why it doesn't really matter.
During the third night of his eight days of performances at the Barclays Center, Hov took the time to address certain criticisms against him.
Jay-Z stopped his set to take time out to talk to the crowd and speak on the recently re-vamped team, the Brooklyn Nets, of which he owns a part. Recently he's come under fire for whatever reason, as people criticize the percentage of the Brooklyn Nets he actually owns (a reported .067 percent, which Hov did not confirm or deny).
Jay-Z said to the crowd, . "When I look at the paper and I see them talking, âEh, he owns one-fifteenth.â First of all, I donât know where they get that number from. But Iâm cool with it. I know itâs not about me, itâs about yaâll. What I mean by that is itâs not personal to me. They know that if you see me standing here that you know itâs possible to achieve great things and I know a lot of y'all out there already achieved great things, and will continue to do so," Hov continued, "Donât let anybody diminish your accomplishments. Itâs our motherfucking time now."
It was only suitable for Jay to then get into one of his classics, "99 Problems."Â
