Today we're treated to some previously unreleased music from TDE spitters Jay Rock and Kendrick Lamar. While anticipation for Oxymoron is at an all-time high (or perhaps not, because: leak), we're turning things to the most underrated member of Black Hippy, Jay Rock.
Word is that this instrumental was created by DJ Mano for Jay Rock's debut album back in 2007. For whatever reason, the record didn't make the cut, and hasn't seen the light of day until today. Despite not making the album, it's a solid collabo as Jay and K. Dot contemplate their rise to the top-- something which really came to fruition this past year, so it's only appropriate we get to hear the record now, right?
Listen and let us know what you think.
Still on the grind all the time
Gotta get mine, doing what's best
Yeah I came up but never changed on my niggas, no sir
Let by-gones be by-gones, let it burn like Usher
No chauffeur, I'm wheelin' myself in a big 6-4
Rims pokin', three-wheel motion, my lungs full of that herb
Let me get it, let me breathe only for a minute
Speak for a minute, put my two cent in it for a second
Let em get a view of my mind
Backpack tucked with a 9, went to school with it
Didn't play with it, didn't tell nobody it was mine
It was my weapon, had it for protection
