Watch Janelle Monae's new Grimes directed stunning visual epic "Venus Fly."
When Janelle Monae isn't busy giving inspirational speeches at the SAG Awards or being an activist at social justice events like the Women's March, she is collaborating with producer/multi-hyphenate Grimes.
Today the duo release their highly acclaimed "Art Angels" collaboration with the video for "Venus Fly." The visual is a one of a kind graphic experience that has a sort of dystopian futurist aura to it. The video has a tendency to bounce back and forth between extreme textures and images and more subdued and soft sequences. It's the perfect balance of all things bold, delicate and artistic.
You can stream the video via Tidal in addition to the following Instagram post from Grimes below.
#TidalXVenusfly ::::: streaming exclusively on Tidal Feb 2 :::::: ----------------------- sometimes it feels futile to be making art in this cruel and extreme political climate, but some of the brightest moments of the last few months for me and for a lot of you, i suspect, have come from seeing @janellemonae 's amazing and positive vision of the future, especially when we are being introduced to so many possible dystopian futures.
