Tomorrow, film director Gus Sutherland will release The Unseen: A Detroit Beat Tape, a documentary comprised of 1990s VHS tapes filmed by archivist Justin Kovar. The doc promises to "provide rare insights into a scene that has remained distant from the public eye
while giving birth to some of the culture's richest and most influential sounds. The film glimpses the hidden and elusive characteristics inherent in a city often depicted in a one dimensional light." To promote the film, Sutherland has released "Ghetto Wishing," an unreleased J Dilla instrumental that will appear on the documentary's soundtrack.
