Probably the best hip hop news to surface this week was the announcement of a new J Dilla album called Dillatronic. The album is due out on October 30 and will feature OVER 40 unreleased, electronic-influenced Dilla instrumentals.
Shoutout to Ma Dukes and Vintage Vibez Music Group for making this album happen. They paired the announcement with the release of the first offering from album, "Dillatronic #7." Dilla was a master of texture, and he mingles fluttering Pacman synths and distorted bass with unadorned acoustic drum sounds to take you inside the matrix. A taste of things to come.
