Time to update the memes. J. Cole's last album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, released in December 2014, has been certified double platinum by the RIAA. The album, of course, is still without any features. The announcement was made by Roc Nation, to which Cole is signed.

Since the release of 2014 Forest Hills Drive, Drake is the only other rapper to achieve a double platinum album, and he did so with his latest one, VIEWS. Released in April, VIEWS sold the equivalent of 2 million albums in just six weeks. Keep in mind, though, that VIEWS came with a few features.

News of the album's continued success serves as a reminder that Cole hasn't released a new single -- much less a project -- since 2014 Forest Hills Drive. Somewhat surprisingly, he was still the highest earning rap artist of 2015. Perhaps the Dreamville emcee is proof that his competition is releasing too much music.
