J. Cole is definitely not a rapper who puts his love life on wax (or on twitter, or any social media for that matter). The North Carolina rapper keeps his personal life tightly under wraps for the most part, but sometimes these gossip sites catch up with you, no matter what. Word is that he got engaged to his girlfriend Melissa Heholt.
The couple have been together throughout the rise of Cole's rap career, they first met when attending St. John’s University in Queens, NY. Heholt now works as a successful wedding planner in NYC. The website Sister 2 Sister reports that Cole proposed to his girlfriend with a four carat diamond ring. This isn't the first time rumors have circulated that Cole proposed though, it happened in 2010 as well, but it seems the evidence is mounting this time around. Heholt was photographed at an upscale bridal store in New York, L’Fay Bridal. They posted a photo of Cole's girl in front of brides' dresses with the caption, "Congratulations to our newest bride #weddinggown #weddingdress #lfaybridal #nycbride call us for your appointment in our new location."
