J. Cole - Immortal
J. Cole's new album, 4 Your Eyez Only, is perhaps the most exciting release of the day, but it's definitely hard to prioritize who you'll listen to first with the wide selection of albums available. You'll be judged accordingly, though. I started my day with Cole, before moving to The-Dream and Ab-Soul is next on the to do list. What's your to do list like?
4 Your Eyez Only is the stuff J. Cole memes are made of-- absolutely no features, kinda slow at points; a J. Cole troll's wet dream (see my reference there?). At 10 songs, it's concise and so far, pretty solid. One of the jumpier and more upbeat songs is the project's second track, "Immortal." The beat is centered around a high-pitch flute sound, while bass and teetering closed hi-hats are littered throughout. Cole makes his flow seem easy, swaying with the movement of the beat. It's produced by Cardiak with additional production from Cole.

Have you ever seen a fiend cook crack on the spoon?
Have you ever seen a nigga that was black on the moon?
Have you ever seen your brother go to prison as you cried?
Have you ever seen a motherfuckin' ribbon in the sky?
Nope, all I see is that C.R.E.A.M nigga, that green
I'm a black king, black jeans on my black queen
And her ass fat, too fat for a flat screen
I'm the type of nigga make the whole fuckin' trap lean
