Instagram has added some updates to their application that are reminiscent of Snapchat, most notably in the stories and facial filter features. However, the popular photo/video sharing platform is looking to looking to mimic Snapchat once again by introducing screenshot alerts for stories. Users who have been selected to participate in the testing phase of this latest update will receive a warning next time they try and screen grab a story.

A camera shutter logo will appear next to the name of the person who screenshot your story on the visible list of viewers, further designating the culprit. The company notes how the notifications may become a permanent presence based on the test's ability to impact engagement on the app.

However, for those who want to bypass this update and avoid getting caught when taking a screencap, flipping your phone into airplane mode will not set off Instagram's potential new story feature.
