iLoveMakonnen has released four songs since he called the rap game "wack" and announced his impending retirement two weeks ago. His newest track: "If You Down," produced by Danny Wolf, the 19-year-old producer who inspired "Trust Me Danny," and the mysterious SenseiATL.
"If you Down" features Makonnen's heartbroken baroque pop sensibility that he most notably demonstrated on the classic "Second Chance." Speaking personally, I prefer these sorts of Makonnen tracks to his turnt up trap bangers.
"If You Down." will presumably appear on Makonnen's upcoming mixtape with Lil Yachty, along with the recently released "Sound Like Who?" remix.
