Idris Elba is re-creating a Disney classic.
Netflix is really making moves and they're taking Idris Elba with them. The Hollywood Reporter is spilling the tea on the Luther actor and his next project that will be directing, producing, composing the music for and starring in the revised version of Hunchback of Notre Dame. The flick is being described as a "sonic and musical experience" and Idris is said to be playing the hunchback - A.K.A. Quasimodo.
There's been no word on who else will star in the movie or any kind of release date, but we think the real question here is who is going to play Esmeralda??
This exciting project is yet another way Idris has inked another deal to star behind the scenes as he's recently made his directorial debut at Sundance with his film Yardie and he's set to star in and produce another Netflix joint, Turn Up Charlie, about a DJ who gets a gig as a nanny.
Idris and his fiancee Sabrina Dhowre were one of the lucky couples to attend The Royal Wedding. Some online trolls were quick to jump at Sabrina's outfit for the special day, but Idris followed up with an Instagram post to shut it all down, check it below.
