Two weeks ago Ice-T tweeted out the shocking revelation that he'd never tried a coffee or a bagel in his entire life. It's odd, to be sure, that anyone could go their whole life (Ice-T isn't young anymore) without even taking a slurp of diner coffee or a foamy sip of a latte. Also, bagels are all over, you'd have to try very hard, especially as a touring musician, to avoid the less fun donut. In his own words: "White people.. Don’t lose your Fn minds because I’ve never eaten a Bagle.. Take it easy.... lol" and "I’ve never drank a cup of Coffee either... Go CRAZY!!!"
Well, people did lose their minds and yes, Twitter was probably "bored as F" on the day that Ice-T tweeted this stuff but now Ice-T has followed through on this brief spark of late-career limelight and done an ad based on his tweets. He's "finally tried coffee and a bagel:"
This ad is, to say the least, a bit of a dud. Ice-T walks us through his initiation into the normal world where everyone drinks coffee, saying "it's not what I expected" and that it “tastes like water, with another taste kicked in later.” He also made sure to note that, although he doesn't have much personal experience with bagels, he's aware of the issues surrounding them: "I heard that one of the number one reasons people show up in ER is from bagel hands." He clarified this as "someone trying to cut one of these things in their hands and just POW!"
