Over this past summer, fans were saddened when the news of Nas & Frank Ocean's collaboration titled "No Such Thing As A White Jesus" had been lost when producer Hit-Boy's hard drive was mistakenly stolen. Well in a recent interview with MTV, Hit-Boy says that the fans may be able to hear the song after all.
Hit-Boy explained that the hard drive, which was returned to him in November, was mixed up with some other hard drives of Kanye West's engineers. With the hard drive now in Hit-Boy's possession, he is working with Nas' manager in finding the proper avenue to release this highly anticipated track. Hit-Boy had this to say in the interview:
"The hard drive got mixed up with some drives that Kanye's engineers had, and they finally sent it back and I got the files now," he said. "Nas' manager reached out, and he's excited. I don't know exactly what's gonna happen with it yet, but that song is gonna be heard by the world one day."
Hit-Boy also added, "Me and Frank went in the studio a while ago and he just wrote the hook, just blindly, we just wanted to create. He played it for Nas, and as soon as he played it he texted me and was like, 'Yo, Nas went crazy'...it's different from what you're used to from me as for as far as the newer joints, as far as the energy joints. It's like a real-life song."
