Derek Jeter is going to be a dad.
Jeter's wife Hannah just announced via The Player's Tribune website that the two are expecting their first baby, a girl.
In a piece titled, "The Derek I Know," Hannah describes how the two met, Jeter's final game at Yankee Stadium and finally the revelation that they're going to be parents.
She writes;
"We want our kids’ lives to be as “normal” as possible. They’re going to be born into such an extraordinary situation. They’re going to have to be some strong little people. We don’t want them to be defined by their dad’s name — for them, we want him to just be “Dad.” That will be the piece of him they’ll have that the rest of the world doesn’t. It will be special, and it will be theirs."
Hannah also explained that Derek is already set on a name for their baby girl, although she says nothing is definite yet.
One thing's for sure;
“Whatever her name is, I know she’ll run circles around him.”
