Gunplay explains the meaning behind his controversial swastika tattoo in a recent interview.
MMG's Gunplay's buzz is continuing to grow, although it may have seemed unlikely that the 30-year-old emcee is now on the come-up, that seems to be the case.
Life since signing with Def Jam:
"Work, work. Now I feel like the clockâs ticking, know what Iâm saying? Got to hurry up and get these records done and make sure I present the best product possible. Once I feel comfortable with it then Iâll let it go. So Iâm trying to knock out three records a day and out of those three, Iâll only pick one that I want to put on the album. The rest is gonna be for the next tapes and shit."
On the swastika tattoo:
"Yeah, itâs just my symbol of genocide to the bullshit. Mass murdering the bullshit. Too much bullshit out here. I came to Nazi that shit. I came to Hitler that motherfucker. Put all the fake motherfuckers in the gas chamber and gas your fuck ass. Thatâs what Iâm here to do. So niggas better walk light around a nigga. Iâma show niggas. I can talk but Iâma show niggas. All that fake shit, Iâma call that shit out and Iâma stomp that shit out. I got a mission. Just playing the game for the meantime."Â
The reaction from fans on Twitter thus far to Gunplay's explanation have been less than warm, many finding his reasoning insensitive.
