Gunna was released on $2,500 bail.
Slotted by Young Thug and Gucci Mane as one of the most talented newcomers in the game, Gunna has impressed many in a short period of time. Through his work with YSL Records, Young Gunna has all the tools to be one of the most successful rappers in the next few years. With an ear for melody and some remarkable singles under his belt, Thug's collaborator is poised to have a big year. Unfortunately experiencing some trouble last weekend, we reported that the Atlanta rapper had been arrested on drug charges and, although it took a few days, details of the incident are finally being revealed.
Pegged to perform in Arkansas, Gunna and his DJ, Taurus Currie, were arrested early on Sunday morning. According to Arkansas Online, the "Sold Out Dates" singer and his DJ both face several drug charges after marijuana, amphetamines, ecstasy, oxycodone and half a Xanax bar were found in Gunna's vehicle. The two had stopped to ask a police officer for directions when the cop reportedly noticed a strong marijuana odor coming from the car. Once they drove off, the officer allegedly was quick in stopping them and searching the SUV. After finding the drugs, the pair was arrested and released on $2,500 bond.
As he was not able to be released on time, the Arkansas show was unfortunately canceled. Gunna and his DJ are set to appear in court on July 27.
