Grimes and Elon Musk may have the most unconventional baby name in the world, but their nickname for the newborn is a little more run-of-the-mill. In an interview with Bloomberg about her new art exhibit, "Selling Out," Grimes touched on the new addition to her family, whose eccentric name received quite the reaction when it was revealed to the public earlier this month. However, Grimes and Elon have a sweet nickname for X Æ A-Xii that is a little easier to pronounce: "Little X."

Although the new parents initially tried to name their child X Æ A-12, a reference to a number of things including an aircraft and Artificial Intelligence, they were later told that, under California law, a child's legal name cannot include any symbols other than the letters of the English alphabet. For this reason—and, according to Grimes, because Roman numerals just "look better"—they changed the spelling of the baby's name to X Æ A-Xii.

Although it was rumoured that the proper pronunciation of this head-scratcher of a name was "Ash Archangel," Elon later clarified that it is actually just pronounced "X Ash." However, Grimes has said that the name is pronounced "Ex-Eye," although she later replied to a fan inquiring about the pronunciation that the child "has many names."
