The Damon Albarn-fronted group have shared what could be a hint about their upcoming album.
Earlier this year, Gorillaz, the collaborative, hip-hop-influenced group fronted by Blur's Damon Albarn, suggested that they were working on a follow-up to 2010's Plastic Beach, and today they may have hinted at the concept of the upcoming album.
The recently-opened Twitter and Instagram accounts for the band posted "The Story Of Noodle" today, which documents the fictional guitarist's escape from Plastic. "She drifted away from Plastic Beach to safety, or so she thought. Years later Noodle is face to face with pure evil ... Will she prevail?" the description reads. Both words and videos are incorporated to the tale, which follows the same style we've seen from Gorillaz since the release of their debut album. The full Twitter story can be found below.
More info on Gorillaz' forthcoming music, which is expected to arrive in 2017, can be found here.
