The latest phone to hit the market are Google's new Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones. The new device comes in 5-inch and 6-inch forms with cinematic OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) and pOLED 18:9 displays. The phones can last up to seven hours with a 15-minute charge (by a USB-C charger) and boast a water and dust-resistant metal unibody construction. Much like the iPhone with Siri, the phone comes equipped with Google Assitance that makes things easier when it comes to hands-free navigation.

The biggest highlight by far, and really for any smartphone, is the camera quality. Pixel 2 and 2 XL both come with 12.2MP f/1.8 aperture rear cameras and a front camera that has 8MP, both with a dual-pixel autofocus. The cameras have been approved by DxOMark (a leading source for smartphone camera ratings) as the best camera to be on any smartphone. High-quality images and videos can be taken in an easier process compared to a heavy duty professional camera.

With the purchase of the phone users get access to unlimited cloud storage and Google Lens capabilities. The three storage sizes are 4GB of RAM, 64GB and 128GB. The phones are available for pre-order now starting at $649 USD.

A good pair with the smartphone are Google's new Pixel Buds. The new drop focuses on using earphones for more than just listening to music as it incorporates users by helping with their day-to-day tasks, such as map navigation and even translating other languages by calling to Google Translate.

Google also unveiled more device news as they introduce the first ever Google Home Mini and Max smart speakers. These wireless devices that work with Google Assistant as its primary function, come in the colours Charcoal, Coral and Chalk and boast a 360-degree sound range for both sizes. The speakers have Smart Sound technology which means that no matter where the device is placed in your house, it will tune itself to the appropriate sound level.

The Mini will hit stores on October 19th and the Max will be available for pre-order on November 13.
