Yesterday it was revealed that Cee-Lo will be dropping an album by the name of Heart Blanche in late 2015. His manager called it "arguably the best piece of work he's ever done." Now that's some damn good news! Let's celebrate #TBT with a lookback to "Get Rich To This," one of Goodie Mob's finest tracks.
Sometimes we forget that Cee-Lo used to rap with a high-pitched, raspy drawl that on paper should be incredibly annoying, and yet his verse on "Get Rich To This" is catchy, humorous, and full of life. It's possible Cee-Lo's rapping simply sounds better through the lens of memory, but perhaps not. At any rate, it's a damn shame he doesn't do much spittin' anymore, no matter how golden his singing pipes are.
