It's always nice to see a relatively new rapper earning some respect in the game, and today, DMV's GoldLink has reached an important artistic milestone. The former XXL Freshman recently shared an IG post in celebration of his breakout single "Crew" going platinum, along with an inspirational caption: "Black men for the win. Crew is officially Platinum as of today and I couldn't have done it without the RCA family and the fans. Ima be clapping the fuck down in Brooklyn tonight to celebrate."

The single, which features Shy Glizzy & Brent Faiyaz, dropped in winter of 2016. It quickly gained traction, and even went on to spawn a remix with the legendary Gucci Mane.  The track is an undeniable banger, and it's cool to see that it managed to resonate with so many people. In fact, the streams were clearly an important component to his plaque, as "Crew" peaked at the 45th spot on Billboard. And while that's a respectable slot in it's own right, it goes to show that GoldLink's fans played a pivotal role in propelling the Washington rapper's single to success.

Still, despite the fact that "Crew" is killing it,, GoldLink's debut album At What Cost remains slept on as hell. Hopefully his rising clout can bring some more attention to an underrated drop, as GoldLink is a talented emcee, with many artistic strengths. If you need convincing, catch his soulful acoustic rendition of Andre 3000's classic "Roses" that he did earlier this year.

Be sure to check out the celebratory picture below, and stay tuned for more news on GoldLink. Once again, congratulations, and if anyone happens to see a party-dazed GoldLink roaming the Brooklyn streets tonight, be sure to give him daps accordingly.
