If you're hearing subtle traces of Short Dawg in G Perico's voice, you've heard right. West Coast rap has retained its core values without yielding to external pressure, due in part to rappers like G Perico waving the flag. His insistent gaze is unnerving to those on the outside looking in. In truth, his approach to modern G-Funk stands alone in its class, mainly because he seldom forgets what the G preposition represents. The incessant "funk" factor is only half the equation.
On "Mo Power," G Perico lists off those other vocations, unbeknownst to who might be listening.
