Last night, Netflix's "Bright" movie shared the star studded tracklist for the movie's soundtrack. Produced by Atlantic Records, the OST is filled with some unlikely collaborations by music's biggest stars. Today, they reveal a full cut off the project with Ty Dolla $ign & Future's "Darkside" featuring Kiiara.
"Darkside" blends a bit of everyone's strengths on it. Kiiara comes through with her light voice at the top of the song, helping build the song until Ty Dolla $ign comes through on his verse. Future blesses the second verse. It's a solid feature between all three artists. Kiiara may be the unlikely factor in the song but she helps bridge together the whole song. The production has a poppy feel to it that would likely fit on a Kiiara project before a Ty Dolla $ign or Future project but it continues to prove that both Ty & Super are capable of stepping outside of their comfort zone and still fit in on a track. It's an epic anthem that fits the whole vibe of the movie's trailer.
Aside from this single, there are some other pretty interesting collaborations on the soundtrack as well. A$AP Rocky features on a song with Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello. There's no saying what it'll sound like but considering Tom Morello's experimental approach to playing his instrument with RATM as well as his solo work as The Nightwatchman and A$AP Rocky's general forward approach to hip hop, it'll definitely end up being an interesting collaboration. Along with that, Neil Young and D.R.A.M have a song together so hopefully, we get to see that surface prior to the whole soundtrack dropping in December.
Watch for the throne, I'm like Yeezus
They trying to clone me, thinking I don't see 'em
They take subliminal shots thinkin' we don't hear 'em
I'm one-of-a-kind, that's how I'm gon' kill 'em
