French Montana has once again emerged with another banger, following last year's major hit, the Drake-assisted "No Stylist." Now, with his Jungle Rules follow-up in the conclusive stages, French has officially dropped off another single, the minimalist banger "Slide." While he's often kept his ear to the streets when seeking featured guests, French has outdone himself on this go-around, bringing Blueface and Lil Tjay into the fold. The former continues to reap the benefits of being the game's newest stars, already earning co-signs from hip-hop's elite. Now, following a slew of remix contributions, Blueface feels right at home over pianos and 808 kicks.

The track itself finds French Montana borrowing a classic flow from Dr. Dre's "Dre Day," before releasing a chorus that's almost brilliant in its simplicity: "bitch slide, bitch slide, bitch slide." Lil Tjay holds it down for the post-chorus, which transitions into a tone-switching highlight, evocative of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's early days as a g-funk pioneer. The West Coast homage finds French flowing like "Still Dre," before passing the mic to the delightfully offbeat Blueface. "Slidin!" he cries, sounding a little like Ha Ha Davis. "Two dicks on me a cock, and a big glock," he boasts. "Reach for me piece like opening eyes in Bird Box!"

Look for French Montana's new album to surface in the coming months. In the meantime, SLIDE.

Quotable Lyrics

Two dicks on me, a cock, and a big glock
Reach for me piece like opening eyes in Bird Box!
