French Montana & Kodak Black Reach Deal In "Lockjaw" Lawsuit: Report

French Montana and Kodak Black are off the hook in the "Lockjaw" lawsuit.

French Montana and Kodak Black have been engulfed in a legal battle with a Moroccan producer named Yo Asel who claimed the two rappers stole the beat for their record, "Lockjaw." However, French Montana, Kodak Black and the other parties involved have reached a deal.

French Montana, Yo Asel, Kodak Black, DJ Khaled and all other parties involved in the "Lockjaw" lawsuit have come to an agreement to drop all claims and completely dismiss the case, according to court documents obtained by The Blast. Asel was initially seeking an injunction prohibiting French and the other parties from profiting off of the song in the future. Both sides of the lawsuit now have to pay their own legal fees.

In the lawsuit, Asel claimed that he sent a track to French titled, "Sleep85" in 2014 after reaching out to the rapper via email. He said that French heard the song and invited him to "send more." However, Asel claimed he was only made aware of the track "Lockjaw" with Kodak Black in 2016. He said when he heard it, he realized it included a modified version of one of the beats he sent.

Asel claimed that he tried to reach out to French Montana to confront the rapper about stealing the beat. However, he said French never hit him back. He also said that French Montana blocked him on social media. He proceeded to file a lawsuit against Kodak Black and French
