Frank Ocean is one of the most reclusive young stars in music, but he broke his silence today in the wake of the shocking death of Prince, one of Frank's foremost idols. He went on his Tumblr page to write a moving and impassioned tribute to the man whom he calls a "vanguard and genius by every metric I know of." Frank mentions that Prince's "When You Were Mine," released in 1980, is his all-time favorite song.

Tumblr was the platform Frank used when he shone light upon his sexuality in 2012, and in his new post on Prince's legacy, he credits the legendary artist with helping him come to terms with his sexual identity: "he made me feel more comfortable with how i identify sexually simply by his display of freedom and irreverence for obviously archaic ideas like gender conformity."

Frank ended the post by writing, "I'm proud to be a Prince fan(stan) for life." Read the whole thing below.
