After a recent surgery, 85-year-old Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Supreme Court Justice since 1993, has been doing her job from the hospital and from home while recovering. She's certainly been through a lot in the past few months but she's ok, and she's certainly not dead.

Fox News, a network that would not be disappointed should Ginsberg's seat on the Supreme Court be vacated, aired a brief graphic on their show Fox & Friends, that seemed to imply that Ginsberg had died, even though she is still very much alive:

Aside from the suspicious context of this, airing this on any network for any public figure would be seem like an easy thing to avoid. The co-host of the show, Steve Doocy, quickly apologized, saying that "a technical error in the control room triggered a graphic of Ruth Bader Ginsburg with a date on it. We don’t want to make it seem like anything other than that was a mistake, that was an accident." The network also said, in a statement to Deadline, that the graphic was a "technical error that emanated," as if it were a smell or a spirit, "from the graphics team."
