Flipp Deniro's mixtape The Guala Way was full of bangers, but "Night" immediately caught my ear. With the ominous, almost lullaby-esque glockenspiel riff, the beat sets an eerie tone reminiscent of something at once urban and gothic. And then the bass hits, and all hell breaks loose. The track is consistently tense, and Flipp navigates the madness with a proficient double time flow.
It's a cool vibe from the New York rapper, who manages to create a haunting ambiance while retaining the integrity of that classic street sound. If you haven't, be sure to check out The Guala Way right here.
