Lil Pump's debut project Lil Pump has a chance of debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 next week, reports Hits Daily Double. According to their projections, Pump is expected to sell 35,000 to 40,000 equivalent album units in his first week, with 8,000 to 11,000 of that figure purchased traditionally.
As far as debuts go, Christian rapper NF is looking to do similar numbers with his Perception album, projected to move 38,000 to 43,000 equivalent album units, with 28,000 to 32,000 of those being sold traditionally. Country artist Kane Brown's new project is also hovering in the high 30k range (Note: Projections for Trippie Redd's A Love Letter To You 2 are not currently available).
Those three projects are expected to compete against Lil Uzi Vert's Luv Is Rage 2 and Post Malone's STONEY, the latter of which has seen an uptick following the release of the No. 2-debuting single "Rockstar." Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers' Greatest Hits will also be in the running following the singer's unexpected death earlier this week.
Lil Pump's self-titled project follows months of SoundCloud stream domination from the South Florida rapper. After making his first entry on the Billboard's Streaming Songs chart with "Gucci Gang" a few weeks back, the song made an impressive leap from 50 to 19 on last week's chart, making it the greatest gainer for that cycle. Pump's new project features some high profile collaborators including Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, and fellow Floridian Rick Ross. Also included as guests are SoundCloud rap peers like Lil Yachty and SmokePurpp.
