First week sales projections have arrived for Childish Gambino's new album "Awaken, My Love!", which he released on Friday. According to HDD, it will move 85k-95k units by Friday. By comparison, his last album Because the Internet sold 96k copies in its first week.
The big winner this week will likely be The Hamilton Mixtape, the star-studded compilation of rap & R&B inspired by the hit Broadway musical. HDD projects The Hamilton Mixtape at 190k-210k first-week sales, which would make it one of the most commercially successful rap album of the year.
John Legend's Darkness and Light is projected to sell 35k-40k.
