It was estimated last week that Drake's surprise release, If You're Reading This It's Too Late, would move around half a million units in its first week out. Today the numbers have arrived from HDD, and the initial numbers come extremely close to the 500k mark.

The mixtape-album will land a #1 debut on the Billboard 200, unsurprisingly, after selling 497,602 copies opening week-- if we include streaming data, then Drizzy surpassed 500k with 541,585 total. Basically, he went gold in five days.

Drake is starting off 2015 strong, with the highest-selling week so far this year, and his fourth consecutive #1 album. Drake's gunna be making a million off a mixtape, to quote his YMCMB counterpart Nicki Minaj
