Famous Dex has been having a pretty good year so far. The rapper's been dropping a ridiculous amount of music and has continued to deliver solid singles to his fans. While we've been waiting for him to deliver another project in the near future, he's been dropping a steady stream of loose singles for his fans. However, the rapper is gearing up to drop an upcoming collaborative project with Reggie Mills in the near future. While we wait for that, Dex dropped off another loose single in dedication to an up-and-coming producer.
Famous Dex drops off his latest single "Ronny J On The Beat" as a salute to the Jersey/Miami producer. Ronny J's played a big role in the way that South Florida's and "Soundcloud rap" sound has developed over the past year. The production on the track consists of some rattling, distorted bass that dominates the lo-fi piano chords that sit in the back. Meanwhile, Famous Dex comes through with his signature drugged out flow and wild adlibs.
Dex also delivers a visual to accompany the short song. It maintains the same aesthetic that he's been delivering with his visuals. He's seen throughout the video flexing cash and his clothes while sipping lean and smoking. However, he grabs director Louieknows for the video who works some post-production magic to the visuals. Louieknows makes the visuals pop out further by distorting and drawing out certain elements around Dex. It definitely is a solid video that matches the drugged out, trippy vibe of the song. Louieknows has also been working with Dex' collaborator, Rich The Kid, for the upcoming video for "New Freezer" featuring Kendrick Lamar.
