Fabolous was a performer at Power 106 KMEL’s Hip-Hop Holiday House of Soul 2016 concert out in Oakland, and sat down with Big Von for a quick interview following the show.
It's become tradition for Fab to drop a mixtape around Christmas, however he confirms that this year, there will be no Christmas tape from the New York rapper. Instead, Loso will be releasing a new project on Friday, January 13th. He says that his joint effort with Jadakiss, Freddy Vs. Jason, will drop after that.
Leading up to the project announcement, Fab speaks on how difficult it's become to clear samples, and cites that as an issue with his project releases, before discussing his Soul Tape series.
Towards the end of the interview, he hints at the project dropping on Friday the 13th. "Freddy Vs. Jason is on the way," Fab confirms, "we were tryna put it out next month in January, but we gunna drop something to go into it. I don't wanna give the whole thing..but we gunna drop something next month. Low key, Friday the 13th is next month, that's all I'ma say. January the 13th is a Friday."
