This one's going to sting for Eminem fans.

Not long ago, we reported that Denaun Porter, one of the rapper's frequent collaborators, said that Eminem's new album was finished. This update sent fans of the Slim Shady into a frenzied state of excitement, with speculation as to when the project would drop ramping up considerably. “Am I working on Eminem’s new album?” Porter asked viewers during a livestream video session. “No, we are done. How about that?” However, additional comments from Porter may cool much of the enthusiasm he had initially generated by saying that. According to comments he made to Complex, the album isn't actually done - he was just trolling.

It was supposedly Porter's way of silencing those who kept asking him for details about Eminem's forthcoming LP on the daily. "They trolled the shit out of me the whole time," he surmised. Continuing to explain himself, Porter showed no remorse for the false information, claiming he'd never be the guy to actually leak details. "Anytime they come in there, they can expect to get trolled with any kind of question like that," the producer said. "I'm never the person to give up that kind of information. I might say, 'Hey, we're working on it' or 'Hey, we're close.' But I'm never going to be the guy that gives up the information. But they can get trolled."

While the timeline for the album's release almost certainly grows longer and more painstaking, the project has previously been described as “amazeballs” by Porter himself. The producer also happens to be signed to Shady Records has worked with Em extensively throughout his career, so you would think that he'd be in the know about what his label boss is up to. There are some solid facts and not just rumors where some new Eminem music is concerned though - the rapper will be dropping a track with pop-singer Pink called “Revenge,” officially hitting the open market on October 13th.

Shady last teased his upcoming album when he released the song “Campaign Speech.” At the time, the rapper tweeted, “Don’t worry I’m working on an album! Here’s something meanwhile,” but unfortunately he’s been quiet ever since then. When do you think the new album will drop? Let us know below.
