Before the 2018-2019 NFL season kicked off for the Detroit Lions Monday night at home against the New York Jets, the Lions decided to have a hometown legend serve as an honorary captain and do their coin toss. And that man was non-other than rapper Eminem, who’s coming off the release of his surprise album a few weeks ago called Kamikaze

Rocking a black Lions hoody, which he had up over his head like always, Em walked out to midfield as an honorary captain with some of the Lions players. However he really didn’t do much other than just stand off to the side as the Jets were the visitors and were given the call to choose heads or tails. For the record though, the Lions did end up winning the toss.

Unfortunately for Em and the Lions though, the game didn’t go too well as the Sam Darnold-led Jets crushed Detroit 48-17, giving their new head coach Matt Patricia plenty of things to work on ahead of next week’s game against the 49ers.

Check out some clips & pics from those in attendance at tonight’s game (below). Look for Eminem to be dropping a new video for his Kamikaze song “Lucky You” with Joyner Lucas this Wednesday afternoon at 1pm ET as well. Stay tuned for that.
