Drake's "God's Plan" breaks another streaming record.
Drake's "God's Plan" has been breaking records left, right and center. Rightfully so, the song is one of the most infectious singles to drop thusfar in 2018 and the video for the song was heartwarming as hell. The song will likely end up somewhere at the top of a year end list and it seems like everyone and their mom's have been bumping the song repeatedly. After five weeks since dropping the song, Drake's hit another major feat with the song.
According to Billboard, Drake's "God's Plan" joins Baauer's "Harlem Shake" as the only other song to break 100 million streams within the span of a week. The song hit 101.7 million streams this past week, according to Nielson Music. They say the release of the video last week played a major role in its surge in streaming numbers. In addition, the rapper also tops the charts with his single for a fifth week in a row.
Earlier today, it was reported that the song became the first song to ever hit at least 75M streams over five separate weeks. Overall, it's safe to say that Drake's out here working.
Aside from his musical efforts, there's been talks that the OVO head honcho might be leaving Jordan Brand for Adidas. Creative Director of Nice Kicks, Nick DePaula, confirmed that Drake's currently in negotiations with the sportswear brand for a new deal. Jordan and OVO have dropped some dope collaborations together in the past too but if he ends up linking up with Adidas, who knows what they'll end up bringing to the table.
