Drake seems to essentially undefeatable at this point. Despite the fact that he didn't submit More Life for the Grammys, he's been making some major moves which land him even bigger accomplishments. The talk of last week was Drake's Scary Hours EP which included "God's Plan" and "Diplomatic Immunity." Many speculated that the former would end up debuting at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and today, it seems like the speculations are real.
ChartData reports that Drake's "God's Plan" has officially hit the number one spot on the Billboard 100. This marks the rapper's fourth number one single on the Billboard 100 following two collabs with Rihanna on "Work" and "What's My Name" as well as his 2016 mega-hit "One Dance." With this accomplishment, he takes Camila Cabello and Young Thug's spot for "Havana" which held the top position last week on the charts.
In addition to making a huge splash in North American markets, "God's Plan" also marks Drake's third number one single in the U.K. Drake officially bumped Eminem and Ed Sheeran's collaboration on "River" which previously held the top spot.
"God's Plan" is already becoming Drake's next big hit in his catalog. Upon it's release, it already broke two other records on major streaming services. The song broke U.S. Spotify's single day streaming record and the following day, Zane Lowe revealed Drake's latest single broke Apple Music's first day streaming record with over 14M streams upon it's release.
Drake's been in the studio a lot lately so it looks like he's cooking up his next album.
