There are reasons American Idol pays Nicki Minaj $8 Million a season. The Pink Friday rapper has connections in the industry that can come in handy once in a while. Nicki took advantage of these connections Tuesday night, when she brought Drake to the American Idol stage to surprise contestant Candice Glover, who had just performed his song "Find Your Love" on the show.
At first, a recording of his voice was played, which found him sympathizing with the level of pressure Glover was surely experiencing, and admiring her rendition of his song. "I just wanted to let you know that tonight I was at home and I know what it is to be in your position, be under heavy scrutiny with all those tough judges," he said. " I just wanted to let you know that I was so honored that you sang my song and you did such an incredible job, you have such an angelic voice. I almost with you were there in the studio creating it with me."
Drizzy then showed up on stage in a characteristally strange, vaguely medical outfit. The Toronto rapper embraced some fans, and let Glover know how proud of her he was.
No reports on whether Drizzy will join the panel of judges next season.
