Drake comments on Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse and why he "lost a little bit of respect for the sentiment of the verse."
All the commotion surrounding Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse has subsided, and one question remains-- are you still bumping the track? It's a question Drake asked during his interview with Elliott Wilson for Elliott's CRWN series.
The interview took place last night, and while it hasn't actually aired yet, Twitter came through with much of Drizzy and Elliott's discussion. During the two-hour conversation, they inevitably touched on K. Dot's verse on "Control." Drake's comments on the track and verse in question have surfaced online. The rapper previously said, "I know good and well that Kendrickâs not murdering me, at all," but now he's elaborated more on where he think Kendrick messed up on the record.
"That ['Control'] verse was a moment to talk about. Are you listening to it now, though?," Drake asked, before continuing, "He didnât come in there on some wild, âIâm in New York, fuck everybody.â I almost wish he had come in there on that shit because I kind of lost a little bit of respect for the sentiment of the verse. If itâs really âfuck everybodyâ then it needs to be âfuck everybodyâ. It canât just be halfway."
Do you guys agree with Drake? Are you still playing "Control"?
