Drake couldn't make it to Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards, so he accepted his award (Best Hip-Hop Video for "Hold On, We're Going Home") in Boston instead. Captured on video by a fan in the audience, Drizzy's speech runs through all of the essentials: he thanks God, Lil Wayne, the fans, etc. He does, however, manage to poke a bit of fun in the process.

"I'd just like to say, I know this is a hip-hop award, and I know a lot of you are frustrated like, 'this is not a hip-hop song.' And you know what? You're right; I tricked you all. Rappers, better luck next year."
