True fans of the series will understand why Dragon Ball GT was excluded from that list. The latest series, Dragon Ball Super, is about to reach an epic conclusion. The director and a producer of Dragon Ball Super alluded to the future of the anime last week, and Toei Animation, the studio behind Dragon Ball, recently confirmed that the show will continue in movie form. Still, fans will miss the episode format of the action series.
In Latin America, thousands of Dragon Ball fans clamored together to watch the penultimate episode streamed live in stadiums, plazas and parks. The 130th episode, which features the epic battle between Goku and Jiren in the Tournament of Power, has been highly anticipated for months. After news of the mass streamings hit the web, Toei Animation released a statement warning viewers that streaming the episodes on platforms that were not in partnership with the company was illegal.

Ciudad Juárez, the most populous city in the Mexican state of Chihuahua, made formal negotiations to have the episode streamed. According to El Diario de Juárez, the city’s mayor negotiated the terms of the deal, allowing over 10,000 people to watch the episode in the streets. El Salvador and the Mexican state of Morelos also held screenings that boasted thousands of viewers.
