One of the most popular and well-known chip brands, Doritos, received a ton of backlash recently after the CEO claimed they were working on a female-friendly chip.

Indra Nooyi, the CEO of PepsiCo that's the umbrella company to Frito-lay and Doritos, told Freakonomics that a “low-crunch” chip would be made for females, as women prefer to eat politely. According to Indra, men lick their fingers with pleasure when eating Doritos "and when they reach the bottom of the bag they pour the little broken pieces into their mouth, because they don’t want to lose that taste of the flavour, and the broken chips in the bottom.”

She added that females would "love" to do that, but “they don’t like to crunch too loudly in public.” Since Indra's comments were heavily criticized, a spokesperson for PepsiCo followed up to Fox News and said her statements were "inaccurate."

“We already have Doritos for women – they’re called Doritos, and they’re enjoyed by millions of people every day. At the same time, we know needs and preferences continue to evolve and we’re always looking for new ways to engage and delight our consumers,” the spokesperson added.
