Donald Trump held a meeting in his oval office yesterday to discuss protecting immigrants from countries such as Haiti, El Salvador and Africa. A source who attended the meeting told the Washington Post that Donald asked the lawmakers: “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?”

The sources further told the publication that Donald was more interested in opening immigration deals with Norway and suggested allowing more immigrants from Asian countries as he believes it will help the United States economically. Haiti was particularly singled out: "Why do we need more Haitians?” the President allegedly said. “Take them out.”

Since his statements have made headlines, Donald has taken to Twitter denying having said anything to the extent of the allegations. "The language used by me at the DACA meeting was tough, but this was not the language used," he tweeted. He stated that these allegations are made up by "Dems."

Following the Washington Post article, a White House official released a statement that didn't deny the remarks said by Donald.

“Certain Washington politicians choose to fight for foreign countries, but President Trump will always fight for the American people,” Raj Shah said in a statement issued to the publication. “. . . Like other nations that have merit-based immigration, President Trump is fighting for permanent solutions that make our country stronger by welcoming those who can contribute to our society, grow our economy and assimilate into our great nation.”
