At this point, President Donald Trump feels like an easy target. Still, that hasn't stopped the infamous yet undeniably respected Razzie Awards from doling out the dubious honor to Trump and his inner circle, for acting as "himself" at that. Of course, the competition remains thick, with other "Worst Actor" nominations being doled out to Johnny Depp, John Travolta, Bruce Willis, and Will Ferrell. Seeing as Holmes And Watson has been widely lambasted as a cinematic travesty, it's entirely possible that Trump finds himself skating empty-handed. Not to mention, John Travolta's turn as Gotti...
To be fair, the ladies don't escape either unscathed. In what feels like a pointed political criticism, Kellyanne Conway and Melania Trump land themselves noms for their appearances in Fahrenheit 11/9. Jennifer Garner, Amanda Seyfried, Melissa McCarthy, Amber Heard and the often respected Helen Mirren also secured potential shots at the prize.
Even now, it's unclear whether or not the Razzie Awards are seen as mean-spirited by the nominees, or simply a harmless bit of piss-taking. It likely varies between performer; lest we forget, actors aren't exactly known for the absence of ego. Still, the Razzies are a staple, and should be respected as such. After all, somebody has to keep the celebrities in check, and punish the studios for churning out garbation for the sole purpose of securing tax write-offs. Check out the full list of nominees below.
