Donald Glover had a specific vision for his Deadpool animated series, but it was canceled before it was even completed. After the success of Atlanta on FX, the network agreed with Glover to work on the Deadpool animated show. As promising as a Glover helmed Deadpool series sounds, it will never be done. According to Variety, FX's CEO John Landgraf spoke at the Television Critics Association summer press tour and revealed that it wasn't the network that shut the show down.

"I think that Marvel will revive it, because they have the rights. They own the IP and they have the rights to do an animated adult series based on any of the X-Men characters, and based on Deadpool specifically," Landgraf stated. "They didn’t want to do the show that Donald and Stephen [Glover] wrote. We would have done show that Donald and Stephen wrote, but it wasn’t our decision. "When Marvel decided not to do that show, we parted company with them as did Donald and Stephen. Now it’s totally up to them [Marvel] whether they hire someone else to do a different show." At least we can sit back and imagine what Glover had cooked up for his Taylor Swift-themed episode of Deadpool.
