Things aren't looking too great for DMX these days. His legal troubles and issues with substance abuse have all managed to catch up to him simultaneously. After failing drug tests in January, it was reported he was going back to jail for breaching his probation conditions. Reports from last week also said that he could be facing five years behind bars if he's convicted for tax evasion. Now, DMX is doing all that he can to avoid jail time and hopefully, commit to sobriety.
In documents filed from TMZ, DMX reportedly said NBA star, Jayson Williams, has personally offered to help him get sober. According to their report, Williams has given DMX the opportunity to enter his rehabilitation program, the Rebound Institute. Mitchell apparently reached out to X's legal team and told them that his faith-based center is exactly what DMX needs to get better.
The Rebound Institute reportedly runs for 45 days and includes mandatory drug tests three times a week. The institute is predominantly made for both retired and active athletes who face struggles with addiction.
According to the report, it's unsure whether DMX will end up at Jayson Williams's rehab center. DMX's been several other offers for treatment facilities.
DMX's court date for his tax evasion charges is on March 29th. We'll keep you posted.
