DMX's been making headlines this past year for all the wrong reasons. The legendary rapper's been dealing with some pretty major legal issues that are looking like they'll lead to his imprisonment. Despite that, the rapper recently blessed New Orleans House Of Blues stage in November with the Soul Rebels to give his fans an incredible rendition of two of his most famed songs in his catalog.
The rapper recently touched down at The House Of Blues in New Orleans where he joined The Soul Rebels for a moment on stage. The Soul Rebels allowed X to lead the stage for a moment while they backed him up with live instruments. The New Orleans have previously backed up several members of the Wu-Tang Clan, Talib Kewli, Curren$y and Nas in the past, among other emcees. Prior to performing, DMX admits that he's never performed with a band before in his life.
"This is something I've never done before. We got the band, the live band, Soul Rebels from New Orleans. Because you know, when you come to New Orleans, you gotta do some different shit," he said before getting into "Where The Hood At."
As to be expected, the crowd went bonkers when he came out and the energetic performance the Soul Rebels and DMX gave will be a memorable moment for all in attendance.
X looks healthy and in the best spirits we've seen him in a while. Yesterday, news broke that he struck a plea deal in his tax evasion case. While he was initially facing 40 years behind bars, after pleading guilty to one count of tax evasion, he's looking at five years.
